Inspired in Brisbane Part 2

By Blog, Landscapes No Comments

Part 1:

This has been a long overdue post. Sometimes all it takes is a moment like this to fire up the imagination and reignite a dying fire into a raging one. This moment in brisbane was exactly that kind of moment. I was inspired.

The trip to brisbane has not been going to plan from the moment we landed. The constant rain was an anomaly in the typical hot aussie summer. Add on the fact that most shops close early in Brisbane at like 5pm meant that our choices were limited. I remembered that this was our first night in Gold Coast after leaving Brisbane with a heavy heart of missing out on skydiving due to bad weather. (we went back on another day but the gods were still not in our favour) There was still a light drizzle and we drove out the nearby beach to take a walk. I remembered it was late at night close to 11pm when we reached the beach. It was dark and there was virtually no one else in sight. The light drizzle and cool sea breeze was a perfect combination. There was a strange sense of calm despite the raging waves yet solitude despite I was there with my two travel buddies. In all sense, everything came together in that moment. There was this spot on the beach that had two huge floodlights illuminating the sands and there I stood, taking this photo with the floodlights behind me, creating the beautiful shadow and the raging waves were smoothed out by the long exposure creating a beautiful pattern of nature. Staring at the horizon, I was inspired. The pitch black horizon meant to me how uncertain the future holds and the obstacles that were in front of me could be surmounted using the right technique. In a sense everything came together at that moment.
